Since the promulgation of
Executive Order 1 of July 8, 1999, the Republic of Panama
has possessed an effective, safe and dynamic legal
instrument that has allowed the Panamanian stock market to
adopt modern standards of supervision and oversight, which
have encouraged public confidence and participation (both
local and foreign) in the Stock Market in Panama and in
general, have engendered greater stability, diversification
and expansion of the overall financial system.
